<DIV>Pope Benedict&#x2019;s third encyclical, Charity in Truth (Caritas in Veritate), applies the themes of his first two encyclicals &#151;love and hope (God Is Love, Saved in Hope) &#151; to the world&#x2019;s major social issues. <DIV>This major volume is a collection of the writings of Joseph Ratzinger (Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI) on the theology of the Liturgy of the Church, a subject of preeminence to him as a theologian, professor and spiritual writer. The second circle is the relationship to the religions of the world. The third circle is the cosmic character of the liturgy, which is more than the coming together of a circle of people: the liturgy is celebrated in the expanse of the cosmos, encompassing creation and history at the same time.</DIV>

Sally Read converted from atheism to Catholicism when her daughter, Flo, was only four years old, but it did not take long for the child to become aware that many friends and relatives did not share her mother's newfound faith. When her body was exhumed many years later, it was found to be incorrupt. Today, she lays in rest in a glass case in the chapel of the Sisters of Nevers, where millions have come to see &ldquo;the little saint of Lourdes.&rdquo;

Paul Struggles with His Congregation: The Pastoral Message of the Letters to the Corinthians

This biographical drama tells the true story of Pedro Poveda (1874&ndash;1936), a tenacious and innovative priest who opened new paths in education and pioneered the rights of women in the early twentieth century. A victim of intolerance, he was murdered at the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War. In 1974, he was awarded the title of &ldquo;Educator and Humanist&rdquo; by UNESCO and was canonized a saint by Pope John Paul II in 2003.
Poveda&rsquo;s success in educating and advocating for poor, illiterate children living in the Caves of Guadix in Southern Spain received staunch opposition. He had to move to Covadonga, in the northern mountains. There, with the help of young women, he started a new Christian movement focused on educational opportunities for women, which became the Teresian Association that continues his work today. For its development and growth, he relied on young Pepita Segovia, one of the first women of her time to receive a university degree in education.
Poveda continued his work in spite of the social and political turmoil that intensified in the beginning of the thirties and escalated into a civil war. Caught in the middle of the conflict, Poveda, a man of peace and dialogue, gave his life for his faith, leaving behind a legacy of light and hope.
